Version of the input does not matter as far as whether your cables will work or not, they all will. The newer versions of displayport cables will give you better refresh rates and lead to smother picture. I own 2 of these monitors, both using DP 1.2 and I am getting 60hz refresh rate on both screens
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.DisplayPort 1.2 refers to the capabilities of the version. In 1.2 the most significant feature is chaining via Multi-Stream Transport (MST). So you can have two monitors running from a single output. E.g., Laptop --[DP Cable From Laptop]--> [Monitor (MST mode set to primary)] --[DP Cable from primary monitor output]-->[Monitor (MST mode set to secondary)]
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.to have the monitor look the best, it is important to use a display port cable. The HDMI connection will cause unacceptable lag when run at 4k. As far as the cable goes, I don't think there is a "version". The version deals with the way the monitor and the video card communicate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, display ports don't have version numbers, but the difference is in the cable. If you use anything else besides the display port, the monitor won't play in true 4k. Display port will do 4k at 60 hertz, hdmi does it at 30 hertz. So, just get a display port cable, and be done with it. Just make sure your video card has a display port, or your wasting your time
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.DisplayPort 1.2 is pretty much the standard now. Make sure you have one as opposed to HDMI. I used HDMI and it capped at 30 hz. I now use a 1440p monitor 144hz with DisplayPort.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All I can say that this monitor comes with all cables you need: 1 hdmi, 1 display port and etc. All modern video cards have this display port input so you can plug in your cable there and enjoy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The cable will work on any version of Display Port. The monitor is 4k but using the display port it runs at 60hz which you need for good gaming. The monitor does not have hdmi port 2.0 which also runs at 60hz. This port runs at 30hz. Since this monitor is specific to AMD Graphic cards they are pushing Display Port not HDMI.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A standard DisplayPort cable, often called DisplayPort 1.1) will work for any DisplayPort configuration including the new capabilities enabled by DisplayPort 1.2 cables. So the typically verison is not stated.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would've taken you less time to find the answer by searching than it likely took for you to write your post. DisplayPort is a digital display interface developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). The interface is primarily used to connect a video source to a display device such as a computer monitor, though it can also be used to carry audio, USB, and other forms of data. VESA designed it to replace VGA, DVI, and FPD-Link. DisplayPort is backwards compatible with VGA, DVI and HDMI through the use of passive and active adapters. Currently there have been 5 versions of the standard: 1.0 (2006), 1.1 (2007), 1.2 (2009), 1.3 (2014) and 1.4 (2016). The differences in these versions is beyond the scope of this Q & A.
