• This depends on the GPS requirements. Most use an SD card. Speaking for a Garmin nuvi 255, I use the sandisk SDHC memory card. I recently had to upgrade to an 8GB card because the Garmin update had outgrown my 2GB card. You do not need the high speed cards, required by high end photography, unless specifically called for by the GPS manufacturer. Hope this helps

• I used the SanDisk SDHC 8GB card and it worked very well with my Garmin GPS. It had more than enough space and there were no glitches.

• What GPS. Some would use this SD card. Many however use a micro SD card with higher capacity, e.g., 16 GB Micro SD for a Garmin.
