• I don't know about downloading books from any other company except Audible. Works great with Audible, though you do have to have a subscription to Audible. The Audible people can/will walk you through downloading their software called "Audible Download Manager". Try them. I LOVE this Sportclip to listen to books and music while walking the dog - it does exactly what I need it to. :)

• Yes! I don't know why everyone is saying no. I only purchased this for audiobooks, which I only use Overdrive to transfer them onto the MP3 player. It works perfectly. I've dropped mine so many times that I broke the clip on the back, but have had the same one 4 years and am only replacing it because of the clip. The battery has never failed me either. Best gadget ever! Highly recommend this for books, just purchase a larger GB SD card for more memory.

• It says you can, but I don't believe it's a direct download. I think you have to have the file on you computer first, then you can sync. I haven't tried it
