Depending upon size of the picture files, 16 GB (~16000MB) would hold quite a few. If the average scan size were 8MB, which would actually be quite large for a scanned picture, then a 16GB flash drive could hold around 2000 pictures in theory. The person doing the scans could right mouse click on the scanned photo and click properties to see how large the file is to get a general idea of how many pictures would fit on 1 GB which is for round figures 1000 MB (even though technically it is defined as 1024) I always allow for a little space on the flash drive to be not filled so the drive should be able to access files easier. Hope this helps. I am not an expert, but have done several family photo projects
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A lot depends on the resolution of the scans. At 400 dpi, you could probably put 300 - 400 pics on a 1 Gb flash drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless there are thousands of pictures 16gb should be plenty but it never hurts to have more than you need.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on the DPI setting on your brother's scanner each picture could be between half a megabyte and 10 megabytes. Even at the biggest size a 16gb thumb drive will hold 1,500 pictures.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on resolution of the pictures Quality. Approx.. 4000 pictures can be stored.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are many variables including the number of photos and the size of the scanned photos. It would be best to scan all the photos into a single file on the computer and then check the properties of the file to see how large it is. That will determine the size drive needed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on the size and amount of pictures. You could always buy two 16gb and return one if you end up not using it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would depend on the resolution that the pictures are scanned at, but to give you an idea, if they were 4 mb's each, you could store almost 4000 of them on a 16 gb flash drive. It also matters the format that he saves them as too. A .jpg file will take up less space than a .png file because you can compress a .jpg. To give you a Very vague answer, I'd say that a 16 gb drive would be fine. I used the attached one and it worked Great and was priced right too! Your brother will run out of energy before the drive runs out of space. Sorry to hear about your bro passing! Good Luck!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To be safe I would go for a 8 GB drive. Some people keep ALOT of photos. Considering you never mentioned how many photos there are in total I would go for a 8 GB drive so that I may add photos to the collection later. You can fit approx. 200-300 Photos for every GB. Safe estimates; 1GB = 200 photos 8GB = 1,600 16GB = 3,200
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Capacity of the flash drive will depend on the total size of pictures which are saved on the computer for eg if the file size of the pictures is 3 GB you will need a 4 GB drive and so on.
