No the software used with this is optional. It is for file encryption. The drive works perfectly fine without anything additional installed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hmm. Forgot to mention it my review, but there was actually some kind of a glitch when I tried to download SanDisk's latest version of the on-drive encryption software, so I just used the SanDisk encryption software that was already on the drive. And eventually I decided not to use it, because, ehh, I just thought it was a little clunky to use and there's gotta be better encryption software out there. But as to any other software requirements: Nope -- at least not for the Windows PC I use, and I doubt it'd be any different for a Mac. Just plugged it into the USB port & started using it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The MBA will recognize it as a standard drive and will come right up. What you may want to do is reformat the flash drive using Disk Utilities on the Mac. Unfortunately if you reformat the flash drive for use with a Mac, you will not be able to use it with the window system. If you want to use it for both Mac and Windows system I would suggest formatting for FAT32.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No need to for extra software. Just plug it in and Windows will install it.
