Yes, you do have some side to side movement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You can, in principle, slide almost the width of the mounting frame, but still would be better to stay somewhere near the middle just for reasons of weight distribution.

Please try again later.If they had made the mount 1.5" wider you could center it on the stud in the center of the room and screw it to the studs on the left and right sides as well for a very strong mount, especially since this mount is made for 85" and 90" TVs! Studs are universally set at 16" on center, how could they not take this into account...
