Hello Mike, This mount is good for studs up to 24" apart. However, the best way to make sure the mount will work with your TV is to plug in the exact model # to our selection assistant: http://mf1.bestbuy.selectionassistant.com/. Kathryn @SANUS
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.24" centers can be rather tricky. 16" or 20" centers is usually what is recommended. I would try to mount the bracket as close as possible to center of the bracket into a single stud as a 24" span is rather long for a wall mounting bracket. Then use toggle bolts or heavy duty dry wall anchors to shore up the right and left side of the bracket. This way the weight is taken by the stud where it is lined up to the center of the stud and if you have to slide the tv around the heavy duty dry wall anchors or toggle bolts will keep the bracket flush and level with the wall while taking the weight. Any bracket should do as most 46" TVs do not weight much, even some of the older models.
