QuestionI shoot some video with the iPhone 12 PRO MAxand the blink 500. Some are perfect, but for some, there are sound interruptions... like it works for 2 second then it fails for half a second then 3 second on and one second off. and then on and off...

- Answer This is a new problem with iOS14 and Facebook. Until they properly apply updates that allow this, it will not work. That can take time and I suggest contacting Facebook support to speed up the process. BUT... I have created a work-around that fixes this. Please contact [email protected] and we will provide an easy how-to. It is too involved for this medium. Speak soon!

- Answer Yes, in Mono mode. As long as the application you're using allows external lightning microphones.

- Answer I am not certain because I do not have an iPhone and AirPods to test, but from my research it does not seem like it's likely. I have done research on forums and no one has tested this yet, or got external mics to work. I would recommend asking Apple support to see if external Lightning microphones work with Live Listen.

- Answer Unfortunately this is a limitation of those applications. Zoom and FaceTime only allow one source for microphone in and speaker out. So when you use a lightning microphone, unfortunately those applications do not give you the option to select the speaker on the phone as an output. This is a limitation of the app, and not this or any microphone. I have been in discussions with Zoom to let them know that expended audio preferences for their mobile applications are a necessity, but unfortunately they have not added that functionality yet. FaceTime is unlikely to add that functionality because they expect users to be using the iPhone's microphone and speaker.

QuestionHello, I am unable to get this to work when trying to live stream via the MindBody app. It is working when I try to use the native camera/vido apps on my Iphone. Do you have any suggestions for how to get this to sync up? Thanks,

- Answer I am not familiar with the MindBody app and it is a very real possibility that the app does not allow external Lightning microphones. I would contact the MindBody app support and ask them if their app supports external Lightning microphones.

QuestionAs main source of audio for main speaker, will the receiver (stick) connect directly to Mac Book or is it necessary to use the lightning to headphone jack adapter instead? If adapter is necessary, are there any other parts not included in box?

- Answer MacBooks don't have a Lightning port. There is no Lightning to USB or USB-C adapter I've seen that works. So, you cannot use the RXDI receiver with any computer, you can only use it with iPads and iPhones with Lightning. You can use the Blink systems (B5 & B6) with the RXUC receiver, or add the RXUC receiver à la carte to the B3 system and have both.

- Answer Yes it will work with the native video app. Make sure you plug in the receiver before you start the video app. I have use the AirPods with Filmic Pro and was able to monitor in real-time.

QuestionCan this be used in a live situation? I am teaching in the classroom and am trying to come up with a wireless mic I can use since I will be wearing a mask and would like it to pair with a portable speaker.

- Answer You could not connect this to a portable speaker. You could use the Blink 500 B1 to plug into a portable speaker, it has a 3.5mm TRS output that would work with most portable speakers.

QuestionIs it noise cancellation? Do you hear the air noise in the video?

- Answer There is no noise cancellation. Wireless microphones don't have this feature. But you can use EQ and noise reduction plug-ins in post-production to remove unwanted noise. If wind noise is your problem, then a furry windscreen on the lavalier is your best bet.

- Answer No it does not blend with the iPhone's microphones. No external microphone will. You will need a external recorder for a mic, and mix in post-production to blend the 2 audio sources.

- Answer You can connect any microphone to the 1/8" (3.5mm) mic input, and even line-level sources to the input. Keep in mind you will need to experiment with the input level on the transmitter to ensure you don't overload the input.

- Answer Yes, it will work well with FB Live. Just be sure to start the Facebook app after you have the Blink 500 RXDi receiver plugged into the phone, otherwise Facebook will not recognize the Blink 500 system as an external microphone.
