“I bought this hoping to use it with my iPhone 11, but reading the instructions has me a bit concerned. The instructions explicitly say to attach the magnet to my case, but I have a silicon case from Apple. Will this hold my phone securely enough?”

If your phone or phone's protective case is not MagSafe compatible you are required to adhere the included MagicPlate to the outside of the protective case. The adhesive on the MagicPlate may not adhere as well to a smooth silicone case, so may be required to use a more permanent adhesive. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an iPhone 14 pro with a tech 21 case it holds very nice. It’s used in a Honda CR-V. It also comes with a magnetic ring and plate to help hold your phone . I didn’t have to use them though.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Okay, so I attached the magnet to my silicone case, and just as I feared, the magnet did not stick for more than a few seconds. I'm returning this and will get something different.

If the magnet does not stick to your case, try using super glue to stick the magnet to your case. Once the magnet is attached to your phone it will secure quite well against the magnet in the mount.
