It depends on the file format of the movies. A movie on a BluRay disc can soak up 50 GB of space, assuming you could figure out a way to defeat the copy protection. But most formats are way more compressed and lower resolution. So, figure maybe 5 GB for a 90 minute mpg4 movie, then do the math (5 GB is .005 TB, and you have 5 TB in this drive.)

Assuming that 1 TB = 1,000 GB then that amount of space could theorically hold approx. 222 movies. My device has a listed capacity of 5 TB although the actual space according to my computer is about 4.7 TB after you subtract all the operating programs and manuals that come loaded on to the drive. If you multiply 222 times 4.7 TB = 1,044 movies. That's a lot of movies! Hope that answers your question.
