YES. Absolutely. I did the same and it is working flawlessly. When you connect it, the Xbox One will recognize and ask you to format it for use. Easy as can be.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I bought mine I keep it plugged in to my sub on my x one but I am able to bring it with me to a friends house takes less than five mins to set up
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This hard drive does work with the system just fine. Xbox.com explains easily how to format the drive for use with the xbox one system, although until they do an update, you need to disable quick start and check the box that says to shut off external devices once system is shut down. Otherwise the hard drive will stay on all the time even though the system is off. Just means that the xbox one will need to have a hard shut down. The new system starts up fairly quickly, so this wasn't a big issue to me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried the 5TB drive for watching movies on my xbox. Normally all I have to do is download my movies to the hard drive and plug it into my xbox. (This was how I did it using my 4TB drive and it worked fine.) It will ask you if you want to format it to use on the xbox and normally I say no because I use it for my videos which I download from my windows PC. But for the 5TB I am having issues. It asked me if I want to format it so I can install my games and I answer no. But then I am not able to see it or any of my movies I put on it. Any thoughts here?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased the same Seagate, and I purchased the Xbox One when it first came out, and the Seagate external hard drive didn't work, they told me the best hard drive to buy would be the 5TB WD My Book. My xbox one couldn't recognize the Seagate, and I returned it and got a different Seagate and the samething happened, So I just switched and got the 5TB WD My Book which was only 6 dollars more. So If it works for you than great, They might of made an update so that it would work because when I tried to do this it was before this thread was even made. I hope this helps anybody who is looking for Xbox One External Hard Drives. If you want a really good one, I would get the WD My Passport with whatever amount of hard drive you want. it's wireless and you don't have to keep it hooked up and right next to your xbox one. You can put it somewhere it's going to be safe as long as its close it will recognize it. All external hard drives are fragile, but I haven't had a problem with my external hard drive. I have the 5TB WD MY Book. So good luck to anybody buying external hard drives for their xbox ones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will expand your memory. It treats it as a separate save location.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it would work. When it is plugged in, it should pop up as a choice when saving or downloading something. But a simple 4gb or higher usb drive is all you need for xbox. The more content you plan to add to your xbox. The more space you will need.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. And i think you mean mb not gb. If it is 500gb you wouldnt need anything.
