What I did was immediately format the hard drive in Windows, Right-click, format, and whatever settings are there should be the right ones. What formatting does it let you use it just as a HDD, with no extra programs or fuss.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This isn't the best answer, but it certainly works. If the primary purpose of the drive is to act as a transfer mechanism, then don't bother with the Seagate software for doing backups and synchronization. If you have been maintaining your material in a consistent way and know where you save your files, you can just copy them to the drive, and then to your new computer. I purchased a new computer a few months ago and this is what I did and it worked great, but it does entail knowing where all your files are, which not everyone does. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't need to run setup (and I wouldn't). It shows as a drive on windows, and you are good to go. Windows drivers usually take over control right away. save what you want onto it. Plug it into your new computer, and it should also read as another drive (probably with a different letter). should see your saved files there, so you can transfer them to new computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have any firewall software running, you may want to disable it, as it might be interfering with the connection. Failing that, I'd recommend looking to see if there's a troubleshooting page on the manufacturer's website.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.when you buy a product it usually wants to use your internet connection to connect to their website to register the product. it is possible for the server to be down on their end or you may want to check your internet connection at the time to make sure it is viable. Most products have an option (little box to check) to register at another time and you can bypass to do it later if you want. hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The problem looks like in the internet connection area. Please disconnect the HDD and try to connect your computer to the internet. Then, after being successful, connect the HDD and try again.
