QuestionHow pliable is the cord, does it stretch easily.i was wondering if they are comfortable when the cord is stretched out.

- Answer The cord is a big plus and was a factor in me choosing the 280's. It is very pliable it will stretch to 8-10 before it starts pulling the phones out of place on my head. Also, if you think you'd like to try a retractable cord or just get a straight one, do it, its replaceable. I have nearly $2000.00 in perfectly good head phones that were rendered useless because of a break or split in that impossible to fix wire or cord.

QuestionWhich pair would be the best for Electronic Drums?I have just purchased a Roland TD 9K2 V Drum set and need headphones that will drown out the environment around me, and not let me hear the tapping of the symbols etc. I was considering the HD 280 Pro, any suggestions would greatly help, thank you

- Answer Any tight / snug fitting, over-the-ear headphone will work. It will be difficult to find a quality set of headphones that will completely drown out ambient noise. However, with the sound from the headphones, any over the ear should drown out the actual sound of hitting the drums themselves.

QuestionDo these headphones make your ears very hot and uncomfortable after a while or are they relaxing and breezy

- Answer Hello- I would not use these for exercise or strenuous physical activity, as that raises the body temp of the wearer. These are designed for the recording studio to block out noise, so with normal use the user would not expect a lot of perspiration.

- Answer It means that you purchase them on-line and pick them up in the store if you choose or have the item mailed to you. Look for "in stock" or "in store" if you want something that you can go to a retail store and purchase.

Questionheadphones for classical musicI am looking for headphones for classical music, symphonic, string based chamber music etc. Is there some place near Tampa Florida I can go and listen to a few sets of headphones to hear these phones so I can make a half way intelligent choice?

- Answer Do yourself a favor and buy a set of Sony MDR-V600 headphones I have used them for years in my recording studio and they are very high quality and cheap in my opinion

- Answer Hello- The HD 280 has more aggressive noise blocking and the capability to fold up to its advantage. The HD 448 has a detachable cable system and carrying pouch to its advantage. The HD 280 has a more neutral sound, the HD 448 has a fuller sound.

QuestionHow long is the cord? And is it too bulky?The cord is a heavier duty coiled cord, right? How far does it reach?

- Answer The cord is about a yard long while coiled. My last Sennheisers (HD 205) developed a short in the cord. This cord, I believe, is replaceable, so you don't lose your entire investment if it craps out on you. Bulky: I have to admit it took a quick minute to adjust from the cords that I'm used to, but it is no problem now. It doesn't feel bulky to me, and I actually prefer it now to the other types. I just whip it to the back of me and listen to my music! Plus, if you happen to snag it on something, there's a lot of give and you won't pull it away from your actual cans.

- Answer For travel, I would use ear buds. These are really big, and you can't really put them in a small space.

- Answer An Ipod or laptop are not going to utilize the drivers in these headphones! Try a relatively cheaper Senn, ie HD 205. They'll do the job (a little too much power for an Ipod, but you'll enjoy the sound). Also, Grado makes some good cans. If you want in-ear, try Shure brand. Good warranty; durable, and nice sound for in-ear.

- Answer I don't know what HD595s are so I don't know. Take your iPod to the store and listen to the different over the ear headphones. I like my Sennheiser Closed Over-the-Ear Dynamic Stereo Professional Headphones very much and they cut out a lot of noise and I use them with my SanDisc MP-3 player or my Nintendo DSi. My wife has to get in my face now when I'm wearing them because I don't hear her shouting at me, Ah the bliss of no outside noise...

- Answer They are because you get the sound cancellation feature as well as the ability to pick up subtle sound nuances. I would say yes for sure.

QuestionFor an avid listener who wants a good listening experience...Would you recommend these or another headphone? I like to utilize portability, such as folding away for storage (which this set has), replaceable cables (again, something this has), and easy to carry around. I have heard that this headset creates a more real sound, but my question is will it have enough depth in the sounds that it will fulfill my expectations? Some have directed me to the 428's or the 448's, even the 518's, but I am really unsure as to which to get. Also, is the impedence something to be worried about? This set has 64 ohms, which I worry might be a little bit too much for my iPod to handle. Will it drastically reduce battery life, or is it nothing to really worry about?

- Answer 64 ohms is definitely something to be concerned with, get a headphone amp to go with it, there are some very good cheap ones on the market. For portability consider some PX 100 II's they fold up to sound sunglass size and have their own case and sound superb also have a 32 ohm impedance. They may feel flimsy but I've had a pair for 12 years (orig. PX100's) and used them 40-50 hrs. a week for work.

QuestionWill I need a headphone amp to get a sufficient volume level when doing home producing?If purchased I will be using the headphones plugged directly into my laptop do produce and mix music. While some consumer headphones have sufficient volume, some studio headphones require a headphone amp to produce adequate volume.

- Answer These headphones have a fairly low impedance- you will get ample volume and clean, natural sound without exaggeration (true, unbiased linear sound reproduction) at all volumes.
