Yes, IF your TV has the small sized headphone jack or an optical audio output port these have both type inputs. There are adapters, sold separately, for a 1/4 inch headphone jack if your Stereo only has that. My Sony TV has a menu for choosing headphone use. Check your TV. I like these too. And, the wires stay off you. These are RF which sounds better than Bluetooth.

In my experience, plugging the earphones directly into the TV muted the sound for the rest of us. Plugging them into the cable box allows the user to adjust the volume for their needs but also allowed the rest of the family to listen as well.
