• can be placed on any flat surfact. as long as the vac can get to it it'll be fine

• It navigates hard floor or carpets. When the mopping attachment is installed, it will avoid the carpets (carpet zones are drawn in on the map so it knows where it shouldn't go). When the mopping attachment is not on it will go anywhere in the house. I run it a lot as just the vacuum and it navigates everything in our home (Tile, LVT, Hardwood, room rugs, shallow shag rug). When it mops it stays on the Tile, LVT and Hardwood areas only.
