- Answer These type of air purifiers are design to process odors that are suspended in the air, not odors that have saturated into furniture, carpet, clothes, etc. Put 1/4" of white vinegar into 3" diameter bowl and it will adsorb smoke odors from furnishings. You will need (1) bowl for every 400 sf. This can take days. If the smoke keeps getting generated, and clothes are not washed in a vinegar / oxyclean solution, you are just fighting a losing battle. The air purifier can cutdown on the smoke odor suspended in the air if ran on high and located near the source.

QuestionThese are running 24/7/365, so how long do the machines last? One, five, ten, twenty+ years? From the reviews and others sites these look to be very good, I don't want to have to replace it every few years. Thanks

- Answer I have had (2) of the Sharp 6 fan air purifiers for 2 years. Never had a problem. I use them for cooking odor removal which takes about 3 hours of run time per meal to take out all of the odors. We average about 8 hours of run time per day. Shark original filters are far superior for odor removal that the after market filters.

- Answer Yes! After having dogs for her entire life, we found out that our 4 year old is allergic to dogs. We were told an air purifier would help with her asthma and allergies. We looked at so many but landed on this one and couldn't be happier. It has helped her breathing and allergies tremendously! I have a more thorough review out there if you're interested in reading. But I can say that it definitely helps with pet dander in the home!

QuestionThis covers 1,200 square fee. Will this be good for my upstairs which is that size? It isn't just one open room though. Has the kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathroom in that 1,200 sq feet. If left in living room will it clean air in bedrooms?
