No, it will not vacuum a shag run. But it does do well going from hard surfaces to a low pile throw rug. I love how light this vacuum is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have used this three times now. I have hair down to my butt. I shed like crazy too. I have not had an issue at all with my hair wrapping around the brush, it pulls it up nicely and is really easy to empty without having to use your hands. I am very happy with this vacuum. I have a small basement apt with tile and hardwoods with two really big area rugs. One of them is long shag. Works great! I just vacuumed my entire house, under furniture, you know, big clean. I was so please with its cleaning ability. I just swept and it was such a noticeable different. The one thing that I wish they would figure out is how to make it stand on its own while in use. The motor piece of the device (the handle part) detaches for storage and hangs on a hook at the base of the vacuum. (It really does help for storage; it becomes more compact) but when in use, the motor moves to the top of device, it then becomes top heavy and it does not stand on its own. I Also struggled to find a groove initially but I found one. I just move everything out of the way before I vacuum so that I’m not moving things around while I vacuum if that makes sense. So o don’t have to put the vacuum down to move something. It’s inevitable but this vacuum is so good I don’t care about it standing on its own. Anyway, it’s at great little vacuum for all types of floors. It really sucks. :)
