No. not completely flat because that puts the vacuum itself on the floor, But the roller is so small that you can come pretty close to flat (see my photo of me vacuuming under a crib).

However, the actual hand-held vacuum (the part with the motor) mounts on the under side of the want and prevents it from going completely flat.

Please try again later.Hi there, It "can" to some level, but because the actual headpiece of this gets in the way, you can only get so far underneath a bed where it cannot reach anymore. I will say that it does pick up any dust that settled under furniture well. Also, you can remove the long wand, and attach it to the accessories that come with it by itself, thus making it easier to get into small spaces.
