my shark ion robot 750 just started doing this a few days ago....I cleaned every possible brush, wheels and it continued....call the manufacturer and was told that it was possible that its caused by a front wheel malfunction... to the best of my knowledge, there are NO electrical connections to that wheel, it just snaps into place,so,...on a hunch, I took off the battery door {Philips screwdriver required}… unplugged the battery for a few seconds, plugged it back in....it went into dock mode,...I pushed spot mode and it started the process for several minutes and went to normal clean mode....it is currently still cleaning.... seems to be working fine now...wont know for sure until it docks, recharges, and I hit clean again
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your wheel drive is gone bad. The cranks inside the wheel housing are striped and get stuck where the motor works but wheel won't spin .so only one wheel is spinning and that's why its going in circles.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The vaccum would spin in circles and not clean. I power cycled the unit using the power switch on the side, it's working now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine just started doing the same thing and I just bought it in May.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Bad wheel motor spin, try spinning them both with hand and see which one is harder to spin that’s your bad wheel
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The same thing just happened to me, so I wiped off all the sensors, as well as top and sides of robot. I then turned the vacuum itself off and replaced it on the base unit. I turned it back on, ran through the “hello” feature and then tried again. It is working beautifully now. Maybe it just needed a full reset?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine did the same thing after 3 months use. Called Shark and replaced my unit for $25 shipping. 2 months after using the new one it started again. Going in circles then shutting off. So, I took off the side wheel, using a small Philips screwdriver. No hair Or anything was wrapped around it. So I took the old side wheel that was still good off the first robot and put it on the second robot. It works fine now!!! When another one goes bad I guess I'll need to order one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just had this problem with my Shark Ion 720v. One of the wheels was locked up. I removed the wheel from the unit and removed the screws inside the wheel housing and was able to pry it open just enough to see a ton of dirt and hair. I used a small screw driver to loosen the hair and my vaccuum cleaner to vaccuum it out. Works great now. Problem solved. Like a boss.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well, after reading many answers and different threads, it seems to be the front wheel. The wheel was completely clean (I pop it out and clean it almost every time I use it). So I had to take the next step and remove the cover into which the wheel locks. Only takes a small Phillips to unscrew and it will lift straight out. There was a lot of hair and dust in there. Once I cleaned all that out, it did not spin nor stop for the rest of the day. I am hopeful that this permanently fixes it!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was having the same issue and went through all the steps that were recommended on here. My shark was about 1 year old when this situation happened. So I opened her up and started investigating. I found that the gear that sits on the shaft of the wheel motor had stripped out. All I did was flip the gear over to the good side and boom it is now fixed.
