It doesn't adjust...it just gets stuck if the carpet has any thickness to it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is an adjustment piece at the top of the handle where you turn it to adjust the suction setting. This is the only way to adjust to different carpet heights and rugs. The power button is also two settings. One setting for bare floors and one for carpet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can't. These vacuums are not made to be used on high pile rugs/carpets or shag rugs. The beater brush (thing that spins when vacuuming carpets/rugs) will be too strong and your carpets will be ruined. There is no way to change the "pile height" on Shark Vacuum cleaners. The only thing you can adjust is the SUCTION. Min to Max on bare floors. Switch to bare floor and switch suction to MAX. On Carpet, most people switch to MIN and switch back to the CARPET settings. (but again- this will not work on high pile or shag rugs)

This is one powerful vacuum. The suction adjustment won't ease up enough for me. So if you want suction, this baby has got it. And the price was right today. $129 plus tax.

In my opinion it is not fit for purpose, who buys a vacuum cleaner that cant be used on carpets. Would not recommend this product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the new pet friendly carpet installed and now my Navigator wont work right. I can't push it on this type of carpet. I was told by carpet installer that because of the "pet barrier" the air flow is restricted. Had to buy another vacuum.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope - I’m a big dude and this vac is not for high pile carpets. Wore me out even on low suction settings. This vac doesn’t Auto adjust as some have indicated. Good suction and worked great on my wood and tile floors.
