Yes, you put the hand floor vacuum on the lower floor unit and it stands upright. It shows you on page 13 of manual.

No you have to lean it against something. If you take the motor off and hook it on the base, it will stand.

No the Shark Rocket DuoClean does not stand on it's own. You either have to lean it on/against something or use the enclosed wall bracket to hang it up.

No it doesn't that is the only thing that they could improve it is a little to top heavy and when I lean it on the wall or anywhere because of the hardwood floors it just slides down

This vacuum comes with a wall support for which is used to hang this on the wall. This product does not stand on it's own.
