• There is a blue button on the front, that blinks when you plug it in. Push the button and the blinking stops, and the steamer is ready to use.

• Yes there is a Button to turn on Steam. once you plugged in, the button will keep blinking and once you press the button steam doesn't starts

• Yes, once you turn it on the steam starts to heat. Wait a minute or so for it to get hot then just start cleaning. I did not like the pump either.

• There is a push in button on the water tank to start releasing steam. There is no pump.
