• With the unit in standby mode (on but not heating anything), press and hold the "8" key. You will hear a beep after a couple of seconds, which enables or disables the mute feature, which is welcome since some people might find the beeping unnecessarily loud.

• From the User Manual: Press and hold the "8" key for 3 seconds while the unit is not operating (the waiting state). It will beep to let you know that function is turned off. To re-enable the function, repeat the same step.

• Thanks for your question. To activate the silent mode: In waiting state, press and hold “8” for 3 seconds. A long beep will sound. When you press the keys, it does not make a sound. This also disables the end of cooking reminder.

• I’m thinking of getting this microwave. I looked it up online. Said: Sharp Carousel Microwave Silent Mode · Press and hold the Stop / Clear button for 3 seconds. Hope this works.
