- Answer The installation instructions for the 24" Microwave Drawer are 22 1/8" Wide, 23 1/2" Deep, and 14 13/16" High. In addition, the installed front of the microwave drawer is 15" High and 23 7/8" Wide. Therefore, the depth of your cabinet (22 3/4") does not meet the minimum requirement for installation of this unit.

QuestionBase cabinets are 24” inches deep. I see this microwave is 26 inches deep. Since this microwave is meant to go in a base cabinet, hence the drawer style, why did you make it so deep? It won’t fit in anyone’s base cabinet.

- Answer It is that deep when you count the handle. We build houses and have put this microwave in the island in over 15 houses and our buyers love It. Fits in a standard 24" drawer base cabinet. It slides right in with very little modification. Take out the top 2 drawers and build a shelf then slide in the microwave. One left over drawer can be used to trim if needed

- Answer Hello, yes it can as they are the same unit. The only difference is the letter "Y" which was placed to differentiate the year of manufacture.

- Answer Hello, the replacement model is SMD3070ASY. The dimensions are 30" W x 15 7/8" H x 23 1/64" D. Your installer/cabinet builder will have to customize the cabinet for the microwave to fit.

- Answer Hello, yes, the microwave will go into standby mode after a period of inactivity. The backlight of the display will automatically dim after 3 minutes if the unit has not been in operation.
