• Hello, the unit does have an open/close button on the control panel. Also, if you wish to manually open the unit you can hold both sides of the drawer and pulls it gently towards you.

• There is a hidden panel you flip down. There is an ope/close button that automatically slides it open. We learned after installing it that you can slightly nudge the open drawer and it will initiate the automatic close.
