Yes, I've noticed this as well and there is no way to adjust it. I believe it is how they broadcast the HDTV stations.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because without an hd box via hdmi you won't get crisp clear sound through just cable (coaxial). So basically to get that hd sound along with the picture get an hd cable box and connect it via hdmi. Fiber optic will give you hd sound but it's too expensive and to much of an hassel When you can simply use high definition multimedia interface (HDMI) an simple all in one package sound and audio.
