• there is only a power switch. You can download a roku remote app to substitute the one that comes with the tv

• No buttons on the sides..the button on the bottom left of the tv, functions as the input (very important feature) and power button. The roku remote is neccessary for other tv features or program your cable remote for cable stuff.
