Is the SKU number the Serial number? null

Its on the Box Serial # EB05473190118317110621.

Hello Deb, if you are trying to locate the serial information, this can be found on a sticker at the back or on the inside of the unit along with the model number. It would normally be labeled as "serial".

The SKU(stock keeping unit) number and the serial number should not be the same. I use to work in retail and the SKU number was used for tracking stock and was assigned by the company. It was not the model number assigned by the manufacturer. The serial number is a number that we had to report to the gov’t every time we sold a microwave. I am not sure who assigns each serial number to each unit. There should be one serial number for each unit built. They should not be duplicated.

SKU number is a store stocking unit number each store gives for the item model/color/size, etc. All exact same items have the same store SKU number. Serial number is unique to the individual item. Serial number is different for every unit manufactured and given to the unit by the manufacturer, not the store.
