QuestionModel number SMC1452CH, less than a year old. Why is the light flickering and what do I do about it? Thanks!

- Answer Most often this means the light bulb needs changing. However, the light bulb is no longer made, and is not in stock in appliance repair centers listed on the web or around most towns. As to how it is that Best Buy and Lowes still sell this model, year after year, with the rotten light bulbs, and no hope for replacement, I do not know. I guess they don't know, until enough of us tell them. Buyer beware This model of microwave has light bulbs that go bad within a year or two, and there are NO replacements, no other sources, no substitutes. Don't buy the SMC1452CH!

QuestionMy Sharp model R-930AK convection microwave oven quit working . I want to replace with another one like it. What model should I be looking for. I like the black outside look. Is there another one that compares with my old one.?

- Answer Hello, we recommend that you leave at least 1-2" around the top bottom, left and right sides. This allows the unit to breathe and allows proper ventilation.

QuestionI have a R-930cs 4/2010 model and a power surge apparently made it inoperable. My opening is in a cabinet and I had a trim kit. I need one that will be a close fit to existing hole that a trim kit will fit also. What is the best one to replace it.

- Answer Hello David, the SMC1585BS is a direct replacement and the only countertop convection microwave we have to date. The model is available in white, black, and stainless steel. The product dimensions are 24 5/8" W x 14 7/8" H x 19" D, the output power wattage is 900 and the capacity is 1.5. As it relates to the trim kits, these are designed for each unit specifically, so there is no guarantee that you will be able to use a new unit with your existing trim kit. We recommend using the trim kit that was designed specifically for each unit.

- Answer 450 degrees F. There is also a "broil" mode which is also convection (no element, halogen tube, etc.) It may go above that, but I haven't measured it.

- Answer Yes, you can return the microwave/convection oven to the store if you purchased it on line. I did when mine arrived damaged, and another one arrived within a few days without any further problems.

Use the Low Mix setting for baked goods that require more than 20 minutes baking time. As it relates to the trim kits, these are designed for each unit specifically so there is no guarantee that you will be able to use a new unit with your existing trim kit. We recommend using the trim kit that was designed specifically for each unit. The model number for this unit is SMC1585BS, you may either consider the Trim Kit model RK94S27 (27 inches) or RK94S30 (30 inches).

- Answer Hello Heather, there is no option to stop the turntable in this unit from rotating. The oven should not be used without the turntable in place, and it should never be restricted so that it cannot rotate. You may remove the turntable when preheating the oven and when preparing food to be cooked directly on the turntable.
