Most often this means the light bulb needs changing. However, the light bulb is no longer made, and is not in stock in appliance repair centers listed on the web or around most towns. As to how it is that Best Buy and Lowes still sell this model, year after year, with the rotten light bulbs, and no hope for replacement, I do not know. I guess they don't know, until enough of us tell them. Buyer beware This model of microwave has light bulbs that go bad within a year or two, and there are NO replacements, no other sources, no substitutes. Don't buy the SMC1452CH!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I contacted Sharp and they gave me this parts distributor: Encompass Inc: 800-432-8542. https://encompass.com I also needed to get a T15 tamper resistant star bit to get the case open. After that it was a very easy fix to switch out the bulb. I bought a spare bulb for next time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Bulbs can be found....do a search for "1.5w Z187 Microwave Bulb Vertical Right T170 Base 125v 20w Equivalent"
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is barely 2 years old and the Sharp Advisor that responded to this question is useless. The closest I can find is part number 9KC3513601500 but BEWARE ! The original bulb is rated at 2 amps and 250 volts. The afore mentioned part number from the best I can tell is rated at 125 volts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will burn out soon -BUT you can find replacement bulbs on ebay and amazon---look for LED Z187 1.5w T 170 base-they run about $7 or $8 E Z install too--The factory bulb is obsolete--Who cares !!
