• A:Answer Hi there, this side venting kit is only compatible with select dryer models. Part WE49X22606 is compatible with your dryer and is required for side venting. • A:Answer Hi there - thanks for reaching out to us. The electric dryer you mentioned (GFD45ESSMWW) can be vented from the right or left side, so a full side-vent kit is probably not necessary (you can just use an elbow duct to make the turn). If you do vent the dryer from the side, then you need the rear exhaust opening cover (part #: WE49X22606). We hope this is insightful. • A:Answer Hi there, and thanks for your interest in this vent kit. We understand how important having venting options is and are happy to help. This side kit isn't compatible with the dryer you've listed; we apologize for any inconvenience that may cause. However, you can still alter the direction your dryer vents. There are directions for how to alter the venting to the bottom or side in the installation instructions, starting on page 15. You can find those instructions on our GE website by looking up the model number, then selecting the dryer and on the product page choosing Owner Support under the picture of the appliance. While you may not need a side vent kit, additional ductwork may need to be purchased and you will need the rear cover panel to cover the original venting location, listed under part number WE49X22606 (that is available on our GE Parts website). Regrettably this side kit is not compatible with the dryer you listed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but can advise there are directions for how to vent to the left available on pages 15 and 16 in the installation instructions for the unit (those can be found on our GE website by searching the model number, pulling up the product and choosing ‘Owner Support’ under the appliance picture). You may need to purchase additional duct work, according to those instructions. While you may not need a side vent kit, please note that if you do vent out of the side or bottom you’ll need the rear cover panel, listed under part number WE49X22606 (this can be found on our GE Parts website).
