My left ear bud was doing the same thing wouldn’t hold a charge I had to turn it on manually. Then I looked inside the charging box and the darn thing was so dusty it wasn’t connecting! I cleaned it out with a Qtip and a placker used for dental floss it was small enough to remove along the lining of the connector. Then worked like a champ! Also another reason could be the usb cable is that in good condition?
