Do u have to charge up before u can use and how long null

Usually every rechargable battery require a pre-charging break-in period. It usually fully empty and fully charged for 16 hrs twice at the begining of its lifetime

Yes, you have to charge it before first use. Lasted about 6 or 7 hours of music time for me before it says to you " low battery". I immediately turn it off till charged up as to not run battery completely down.
