It really depends upon things like, where are the water pipes behind/below your sink & cabinet? Is your basement ceiling 'finished' or just beams? For us, the fridge sat around the corner and 3 cabinets away from the kitchen sink. There was NO way to connect the line from under the sink, and NO way to run the line behind the cabinets. What worked for us was, the guy put the tap-in in the basement on the copper pipe under the kitchen sink, then ran it along the beams (our basement is unfinished, so there is access to the pipes), and had to drill a small hole up into the floor behind the fridge, to connect the copper waterline to the fridge waterline. (Actually my relative was there too and did the drilling.) This worked fine for us. If you wanted to hire a plumber to do it first, before your fridge arrives, I guess you could? Lucky for us the Best Buy contracted installers had no problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just got my new refrigerator from Best Buy and needed a water line for ice maker as well. The technicians located where the main water line was in my home (in the basement) They just drilled a hole in my kitchen floor behind the refrigerator and the line went straight down and was connected. I did clean out under my sink in the kitchen prior because I was not sure how they would do it. They were knowledgeable and asked before they did anything. Also, they explained what they were going to do every step of the way. Very happy with the installation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on where the refrigerator is going in relation to the sink. If its close you may be able to go through the cabinet under sink. If it's more involved you'll need some minor plumbing. It's an easy job for a decent handyman. I don't know how involved Best Buy gets with their installation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you will need to get a plumber but i think they can refer if you don't know one. they will not connect without proper connections in place. use their planning service to come to your home and figure out what you will need and which models fit right. it is a free service and you will not regret it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They charge you to have someone come in. It is an outside contractor so...you can probably get it done cheaper with a local guy. I paid $137 and I had no water line to that area before. It needs to be done after the fridge is installed
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.BestBuy can do the waterline for you, but you have to purchase that service ahead of time and schedule it with them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Running the line from the sink will be on you or your plumber. They will connect the Best Buy supplied stainless steel hose to a valve that is behind your refrigerator and then to the refrigerator.
