Reading a previous response to this question, it looks like it just depends. I purchased and installed my Ring Spotlight Cam with Solar Panel package back around end of 2020. I had also purchased a third party brand gutter mount bracket for my solar panel. Here’s my repsonse regarding the longevity of my Ring components: Ring Spotlight Cam: Original cam lasted about 1 year 7 months then the cam's WiFi died. I bought a new cam (2nd cam) to replace it. So far after a little more than half a year the second cam is still working fine. Ring battery: I reused the Ring battery from the defunct original spotlight cam in the replacement spotlight cam along with the new battery that came with the new spotlight cam (so I have two batteries in the spotlight cam). The original Ring battery is still good after over 3 years. Ring Solar Panel: The original Ring solar panel stopped charging the batteries after a little more than 3 years and need to be replaced. I'm on my second Ring solar panel now. So surprisingly, the original Ring battery has lasted the longest. My original Ring solar panel lasted about 3 years. The original Ring spotlight cam lasted about 2-1/2 years.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve been using one for almost five years now with no issues. Just purchased my second one for an additional camera.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got my ring solar panel approx. three weeks ago. And within a few days my spot light camera on my back porch was fully charged. It is very nice to not have to climb up and take my batteries out to get them charge every six weeks on the two batteries. I love the solar panel and I believe every person that get a solar panel for there ring will not regret it.
