The solar panel is an excellent product that is used to consistently keep the battery charged while the ring stick up cam is in use. The solar panel does require sunlight to charge the battery. Wired on the other hand means your ring stick up cam is connected into an electrical charge like wires.

• A:Answer HI, I have the Solar Panel. Its rated at 5v DC/2 Watts. IT powers my Ring outdoor camera Ok. As far as I understand, the floodlight camera requires 115vAC. So, my answer is "No". /hth

• A:Answer We hardwired our ring doorbell. It was easy since we had pre-existing wiring. If you don’t you can get a kit from Amazon to run a wire from the doorbell to an interior outlet or now there is a solar charger for the doorbell itself. The solar charger is a small solar panel that goes around the doorbell. The solar chargers for the exterior camera and light combo are awesome, they work very well.

• A:Answer For the solar panel to charge optimally the directions say to start with fully charged batteries, the panels must be placed in full sun for several hours per day, if those conditions are met, it should stay charged. That being said, I just installed mine a few days ago and cannot speak to long term results. So far so good.
