• No you don't put water into it. This machine takes water out of the air so your room/rooms are not so damp. The bucket fills up with the water from the air and you must dump out water daily unless you have a hose hooked up to it so the water drains out automatically.

• No - this draws water from your environment. If you want to add water to your environment, you want a Humidifier. This product does the opposite. It is a dehumidifier. Plug and play.. it will draw moisture and fill up the bucket.
