Hi there - the devices works by connecting to cellular towers via it's VirtualSIM inside, and then creates a WiFi signal and private network, so you can connect multiple devices securely - up to 10 at the same time. Because of partnerships with carriers worldwide, the hotspot will give you WiFi in over 130+ countries from the same device. It's super small to it's easy to carry around with you. You pay by the day, month, or GB for the data depending on how you want to use it. Since it often has multiple carrier partners per country, Skyroam hotspots can often get service where your primary phone carrier may not. However, it does require cellular coverage to work, so in remote areas where no local carrier has coverage, it will not work.

The Skyroam Solis Lite and Solis X both use our patented virtual SIM technology to create a private, secure WiFi network that can connect multiple devices to WiFi. Once you buy the hotspot, you then register your device and buy WiFi service separately. We offer multiple types of Global pay-as-you-go or subscription WiFi service including 24 hr Global Daypasses (for 24 hrs WiFi), Unlimited Monthly Subscription, and GoData Global Pay-Per-GB Subscription. We have just launched 2 NEW lower priced local data plans: GoData USA or GoData Europe. Once you have your hotspot, simply turn it on, choose WiFi service, and you're off! You will be able to connect seamlessly in over 130 countries, no SIM cards and no risky public WiFi. You can buy WiFi anytime in the Solis WiFi App or by visiting a.skyroam.com Skyroam does not work in flight (on an airplane) or on cruise ships (unless at port) as we rely on cellular towers and not satellites.
