The cheapest option is to connect your Blu-Ray directly to the TV and play audio through the Sonos, using the Blu-Ray player for your CDs. If you want to keep your old CD player and other components but play them through the Beam (and other Sonos speakers), you’d want to get a Sonos Connect. If you want to keep your old speakers, you can get a Connect:Amp.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you do choose this I would get more than just the beam it has great sound quality but isn’t super loud. I would recommend getting 2 extra sonos play 5’s and it would sound great!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Simply put...that depends. If your existing set up is 5.1 (center, L/R fronts and two rears plus a subwoofer) or greater, you will likely be disappointed with the Beam on its own. You do have the option of expanding its capabilities with additional Sonos speakers (I have a Sonos Playbar - the Beam's big brother - along with a sub and two Sonos Ones for rears)...that gives a fully immersive home theater experience that the Beam would NEVER do on its own; however, you're talking about a sizable $ investment. Likely, for that kind of $ you'd be better off with a traditional A/V receiver and some wired speakers (5.1 or more)...although it's hard to beat the Sonos experience to create a seamless WIRELESS (and clean) experience with amazing sound - and set up is a breeze! Those are some of the considerations to keep in mind as you come to a decision. If the Beam is planned for a small to medium-sized room set-up, you should be pretty happy with the sound experience (perhaps adding the sub to boost bass for action movies)...but anything larger room wise will exceed its capabilities in my view. Worst case, try one out and see how it goes and return it if it doesn't deliver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Honestly I think it depends on the sound quality you are looking for. The beam is decent with Play One's connected for surround but in my opinion nothing beats a wired sound system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Would add extra speakers if you do
