The input for the Beam is for TV's and is via HDMI-ARC or a optical connection. If you are just looking to add a turntable as a source for Sonos speakers to play then you'd use a Play5 or a Sonos Connect. The 5 has an 1/8" miniplug input. The Connect has an analog in (L and R rca).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The beam doesn't have an analog input. It can be done, but you'll need a turntable with a line out (Not phono out) and an analog to TOSLINK adapter (TOSLINK is a digital optical cable). The Play:5 from Sonos have analog input than can be connected directly to a turntable..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can be done. But its a kludgy solution. the HDMI arc has an optical cable connector. you can use an optical to RCA converter. So HDMI to IR to RCA and that should work but there are a lot of unknown variables that are related to specific turntable models.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can’t connect a turntable to the beam. You can connect a turntable to the newer play 5 (maybe play 3) and then stream that music throughout your sonos system including the new Beam if you have one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.nope, it connects to a tv only
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't connect a turntable via any digital interface. Only use analog connections - the whole reason vinyl is making a comeback is because it is an analogue recording - digital recordings sample the sound - and purists believe vinyl is "truer" and has more detail and warmth and connecting digitally will convert the analogue recording to digital, negating the point of having the more fragile vinyl records.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can either wait for the Sonos turntable to come into stock, which is compatible with their products - https://www.sonos.com/en-us/vinyl-on-sonos Or the other route would be to buy the SONOS: Connect and set up a turntable, which can still be played through their products. If you have more questions check out SONOS forums.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you can't plug a turntable directly into a sonos beam. In order to accomplish this, you will likely need a preamp or receiver with a phono input, This would get you up to a "line level" signal could be plugged into the analog input of the larger sonos units. You need to know the difference between "line level" and "phono level" before moving forward. Some moving coil phono cartridges are such low voltage that they require enen more amplification to make it up to "Phono level"
