You need a Play Bar to connect Sonos to your tv using an optical output.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You need a SOUND BAR and your TV has to have an Optical Out port. Then you can add a SUB to the SOUND BAR by wifi. Also, make sure your TV is compatible with SONOS. My TV remote will not control my SONOS speakers (so I have to use the APP on my iPhone), but many others do. But, this is the best sounding system out there IMO.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the best Sonos setup is a Sonos Play Bar and two matching Play 1, 3 or 5 speakers linked for back of room. You need the Play Bar to connect to your TV. This becomes a dedicated connection and will remove these speakers from any other Sonos network you can have set up in your home or office. If you connect these speakers to the TV they are not available to connect to any other Sonos speakers you may have in your home set up. You have to make a choice if connecting to a TV.
