Does soundbar have to have mounting holes on back? null

Not exactly. You will need a sonos playbar mount. It has specific nippels that hold the sound bar. If you had the proper hardware you maybe able to get crafty and utilize the holes these nappies would go into to hold your sound bar.. but it's probably not the best idea.

Yes it does have two holes that fits the Sonos Soundbar bracket.

The mounting is through spaces similiar to a tv wall mount slot. #10/32 screws with counter sink heads are perfect and allow sonos to have room to mount. Any obtrusion from a screw head will prevent sound device to adhere properly. Everything should be flush and even.

Yes. I was able to run the power and optical audio wires through the mount and into the wall. No wires visible!!!

Yes, Sonos designed the soundbar to work VERY well w/ the bracket. You 'should' cut a hole in the middle so the wires can be hidden!
