I would start with this, but if you run into any issues with drop outs you can always add the Sonos Boost ($99) which will make your signal even stronger.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need a central unit. These can be used as single, or they can be set up for stereo or as a group. You could start with a few, and see how it sounds. It is easy to add extras as the software recognizes the new speakers and allows you to add them to a group, or create a new group which can play the same or different music.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In a arge area u would use 4. I have 2 in my kitchen. 2 in family room and 1 in garage. No receiver needed. Just download the app and set up speaker. Easy to use and great sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Go with a constant voltage system and add the Sonos Port to it instead. In using multiple Sonos speakers across a large retail space you may experience drop-outs and/or connectivity issues which can make the system frustrating to use. if you end up going this route you may need to add a Boost or two to aide in extending the mesh network across all speakers.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a good WiFi(2.4ghz 802.11bg) router and strong signal where you want to place the speakers, these will work just fine. If your WiFi router doesn’t transmit a b or g signal, then you will need a Sonos Boost device. Alternatively, you could use LAN cables to connect the speakers directly to the router if you are able to, and take WiFi out of the equation entirely.
