QuestionCan you keep these speakers outside?It says they are moisture resistant, if I kept them from direct rainfall and sun would they manage to work outside?

- Answer The Play:1 would likely be ok in a bathroom in terms of dealing with the humidity, but it would not survive as an outdoor speaker. Sonos does not currently make an outdoor speaker, which boggles my mind. The best option for getting Sonos outdoors currently is to get a Connect, feed that into an existing system with a B channel and get something like a Definitive Technologies AW 6500 for the outside area.

- Answer Yes, in fact you can play different music in different rooms if you prefer and adjust volume and eq separately for each room.

- Answer Yes, these can paired in stereo. There is a setting in the controller application (available on almost all platforms, Android/iOS/Windows/Chrome OS) to pair the speakers as a stereo pair.

- Answer These speakers are compatible with most iOS and Android devices and PC and MAC computers. Connectivity to your TV system would be through a compatible device since the speakers do not connect directly to a TV.

- Answer Yes you can. All speakers work independently. My friends who have sonos borrow mine all the time for parties to expand their own systems.

- Answer Yes, you can. When I have parties, my friends kids often take over the system from their phones and put their own play lists on! We wind up in a Sonos war, which is lots of fun. I operate mine from my Ipad and from my android phone and when I have guests, I invite them to attach and play their own music.

QuestionDo you have to buy a Bridge separate with the speakers?My parents have the Sonos system in their house, and they bought the bridge first and a couple of the Play 1 speakers. If I were to start my own system with these play 1 speakers, would I have to buy a separate Bridge as well? Or can I use them without the Bridge?

- Answer The bridge is no longer required for Sonos speakers. The app now communicates directly with each speaker independently. You don' need the bridge, and neither do your folks.

QuestionCan these play directly from my Denon amp WiFi/LAN home stereoMy home stereo Denon amp has built in Spotify and Pandora is hooked up with a CD player, AM/FM, and TV. It is WiFi and LAN and Bluetooth connectable. I have strong WiFi throughout my home. Can I use these two speakers directly to broadcast any and all of these sources to separate rooms? or Do I need additional components?

- Answer You need the playbar. These can be added as rear speakers but they have no physical inputs to get audio from the TV.

- Answer No, they only hook up to Sonos brand speakers and you must have the sonos bridge in order to connect multiple devices and play the same music throughout a home.

QuestionHow do two Play:1 speakers compare to a single Play:5 unit?I have a couple of Sonos units in my house, including one Play:5 (which is awesome!). What I was wondering is how two of the Play:1 speakers when paired for a single room compare to one of the Play:5 units. Has anyone been able to compare the two configurations?

- Answer I have all models of sonos somewhere in my house. The new generation of the 5 is amazing. The earlier generation was not anywhere near as good as a pair of 1's in a large room. For me, the size and weight of the new gen 5 is not as conducive. I think the sound is probably as good or slightly better than two 1's, however, I am not clear it fills the room as well. Having one source of sound creates a bit of an audio "hot spot" in the room. I am after a consistent level of music from one end of the house to the other. I lean heavily to using the 1's, and just have more of them.
