QuestionWhy would you limit me to 1 Sonos Play 1 when I purchase. If I am using this as a home theater I need two.

- Answer They're sold separately because some people only need one at a time. For example, I initially bought two for my home theater system...Then I bought another for my bathroom, then one for the kid's room, then one for patio, then one for the study. (All bought at different times) So, I'm actually glad they sell them individually.

Questiondo you need a bridge to use a sonos speaker?

- Answer No, they now work off just your home's WiFi. You may need a bridge or boost if your WiFi isn't strong enough. To initially setup the speaker you may have to use the provided Ethernet cord to plug into your router. After it's setup you can disconnect and place the speaker anywhere in your house (with an electrical outlet).

- Answer You can stream non paid Pandora but for Spotify you have to have the paid version. You can stream Xm for I think $2 a month. You can also stream Amazon music that you own, not prime music yet. Also, anything on your iPod or phone and iheart radio and local radio stations.

Questionsorry for dumb question , but which receiver or amplifier would be best to start off with. I'm thinking of getting two speakers but not sure if sound bar or subwoofer etc thanks my knowledge is limited ??

- Answer You don't need a receiver or amp. As long as you have wifi and using the sonos app, you can stream your music what is on your cell phone or tablet, or by using amazon, Pandora or any others. In the sonos app, you just set it up as stereo (left and right speakers). I have the sonos sound bar and sub and the sound is unbelievable. I have it connected to my oled tv. Hope this helps.

- Answer Yes. I use it from my phone, laptop, wife's phone, iPad, computer... whatever is nearest. The phone is more or less a remote control.

- Answer The Sonos can handle some pretty high volume without any issues. Depending on how big the room and how big the sound you are looking for you may need a few of them. You can also do some really cool stuff with more than one, party mode, or individual control. Different volume levels on each with them playing the same song or each speaker playing their own playlist independent of each other.

QuestionDo these have an aux input? Want to be able to hook it up to other components (record/cd player etc) without buying another expensive sonos product

- Answer No. The play 1 does not have an aux input or any input except ethernet. However, the connect has the ability to hook up your record player and cd player (provided that the record player has a phone preamp). You do not need a receiver or an amplifier as the speakers have an amp in them. The play 5 does have an headphone style input...and the playbar has optical audio input to play from your tv. It's a lot to put out at once probably but the connect is your best bet if you want to use play 1 with a record player. I have a lot of play 1 and a connect and I couldn't be happier with the system.

QuestionDesktop computer with music or podcastsW7 desktop computer and wireless router in my office. So if I start playing an album or a podcast from the internet on the desktop, as soon as I turn on the Sonos speaker in, say, the kitchen, I can turn the volume down on the desktop and listen at whatever volume I want in the kitchen with Sonos? No tablet. No music on my smartphone. I'd control it through the Sonos app on my desktop???

- Answer Yes, you can control the volume from your desktop to a sonos speaker in any room. The speakers also have play/pause and volume +/- hardware buttons on them, so you can control the volume even away from your desktop.

QuestionTwo Play:1s or one Play: 3? With the Black Friday deal, it's the same price for either. Already have a PlayBar and love it. This would be for a bedroom and sometimes moving it to add to the PlayBar. Any opinions about which way to go?

- Answer I would go with two play:1's. the Play:3 is great, but the surround capabilities with the Play:1's is amazing. plus then you can move the two play:1's to different parts of your house and have multiple rooms playing different music, or multiple rooms playing music in general.

QuestionDoes SONOS make an outdoor (waterproof) speaker?

- Answer Depending upon what you mean by outdoor the answer could be yes. My Sonos is sitting on a shelf on my outdoor Lanai but not exposed to rain. Music is streamed to this speaker from my WIFI which is indoor and approximately 40 feet away.

QuestionI need a powered speaker for my TV sound (no room for a soundbar) and also want to be able to stream audio from my phone via Bluetooth. Will this work? If not, what would? Thanks.

- Answer Have you looked at the Sonos Beam? I know that you said you don't have room for a soundbar but the beam is relatively small and can be wall mounted if you prefer. You can use almost any bluetooth powered speaker with aux inputs but your best bet for sound is using something designed for TV. Most bluetooth speakers wont give you the depth that you will likely be looking for unless they are larger. But that brings us back to your space issue. I recommend taking a picture of your set up to your local store and having the home audio specialist help you make the best choice for your situation. There are many space saving designs out there.

- Answer The Sonos Play 5 speaker will connect to your TV via wired analog auxiliary cable. Once the Sonos Play 5 is connected to your TV, you can then connect via wirelessly (through the Wifi network) any other Sonos speaker.

- Answer When you hook up the Sonos-1, the system will prompt you to select a location for it by room: I have one labeled office and the second labeled playroom. I have different play lists for each one from Amazon Prime - classical for the office and classic rock for the playroom. There is a pull down menu at the top of the Sonos screen on my iPad and I select the room I am in for playback. Hope this helps.

- Answer I would recommend 1 play 1, and if you feel that is not enough you always pick up another and pair them together. But I feel 1 should cut it for that size room. If you wanted Alexa capability out of the box then go with a Sonos One.

- Answer Not at this time, but I have two sets of outdoor speakers powered by the sonos connect amp. You can use the amp to power any outdoor speakers you want.

- Answer Use two for the best in stereo sound. However one sounds very good, it just greatly improves when you create a right and left for true stereo sound. This is easy to do with their simple instructions. Just label them on the bottom so you can keep them straight if you move them to another room.
