No, you can use your existing wi-fi network, if you have one. But a Sonos Bridge will create a dedicated, robust wi-fi network for your sound system. I'd recommend purchasing a bridge, it allows a super easy way to expand your speaker system with clear sound always.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope Not anymore Just the play 3, or 1 or 5 They have internal wireless!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't NEED a bridge for any of the Sonos speakers. 1, 3, or 5. If you are able to plug the speaker directly into your router or take advantage of the new Sonos software that allows you to play the system off your regular home network without the bridge. I can't speak to the quality of the new software as my play 3 is plugged into my router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Play 1 and when I set it up at work I didn't need a bridge or boost to make it work but when I set it up at home I did cause I have lots of Wireless devices. I would recommend a boost cause it has a stronger wireless signal then a bridge
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Sonos 5, a Sonos 3 and a Playbar in 3 separate rooms and do not have a bridge. All speakers play well and one is on a second floor. I do have a connect to attach my CD player. I think it all depends on the strength of your WiFi and router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It all depends on your wireless network and distance between the speaker and your router or the distance between an other working Sonos speaker.
