What if you want to play a cd? null

What is a CD? Haha, I'm an old guy, and cut my teeth on vinyl, so I do know what you mean. My CD's have largely been loaded on my iPad, and the Sonos can access my music using the app. To use a CD player, you'd have to buy a Sonos Connect($349) and use that as your CD player's wifi-portal to the Sonos network.

You'd need by the bridge adapter to link your receiver or CD player to your sonos speaker. It's pricey, but seems to work very well.

You rip it to an MP3 or similar format and play it off your phone or computer. The Play:3 lacks an input for external wired devices. If you need that get a Play:5 or a Connect or Connect:amp.

Only if you have downloaded the cd to a mobile device.

Sonos Play 3 does not work with CD's. It streams the music via a music source over wi-fi.

Follow the instructions to connect your computer to the Sonos home network. Play the CD on the computer CD drive.

There is a separate module you have to buy to hook up a traditional sound system. Sonos speakers work off their own built in Wi - Fi system. The module once hooked up to your existing system will communicate with Sonos speakers.

It doesn't natively play CDs but you could easily rip the cd into digital format for your phone or tablet and stream that content to all of your sonos devices.
