All you need is to buy a $40 bridge, plug that into your router and you can add 20 speakers if you like. they all communicate via wi fi like your laptop, tablet or phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you do not as long as you have a SONOS bridge. If you have a friend that already owns a SONOS system have them refer you so that you can receive a free bridge when purchased online.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.one sonos device has to be hardwired to your router for any speakers to work in wireless mode. In this case, I would purchase the bridge and plug it into the router upstairs so you can configure the 2 speakers downstairs to be used over the sonos wireless network
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Our controller is upstairs. We have a Sonos Play5 downstairs and a Sonos Play3 upstairs. Both are connected wireless to the controller that is upstairs. It is very simple to add an additional speaker.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need to connect the bridge to the upstairs router
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In addition to the Play 3(s) you'll also need to purchase a Sonos Bridge. You'll connect the Bridge to your router with a cable. The bridge will then transmit your music (wirelessly) to the Play 3(s)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but as long as your wireless signal is reasonably strong downstairs there should be no problem at all!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes I also have a 2 story house I have 3 speakers down stairs and 2 speakers up stairs and its all hook to my router all works great
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are other options but from the new update, Sonos says the original way you have yours hooked up is the best way... Mine has always been near my router. I would definitely purchase this though!! Typically they come with a Bridge and you can probably hook the bridge up to your router and be fine with the speakers downstairs.
