We have 1 sonos connected by ethernet to my computer. All of our Sonos zones can behave independently and can stream, play the TV sound, Iheart radio, pandora or run my favorite playlist. I was under the impression that it would work with WiFi as well...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Play 1, 3, and 5 all stream music. Follow the directions to download the app, and possibly update the software on the speakers. One problem I had is my wifi puts out 2 separate signals. I had to "forget" one of the signals on the phone so the glitch would go away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your Play 3 should be capable of streaming music, as should the Play 5. They can be grouped together to play the same music/station in both rooms at the same time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They have to use your wireless internet network in your home. You stream music through the sonos app on your iPhone or android phone or from your computer. Your devices need to be connected to the same network. Then you connect the app to pandora, Spotify, Apple Music, amazon music. Once they are synced with the app you can play music through all of them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All Sonos devices are fully capable of streaming music from virtually any source world wide. I use my Sonos devices to stream from my computer, my home NAS drive, SoundCloud, iPad, Apple Music, iHeart Radio, Pandora, Rdio, SiriusXM, TuneIn and anything else my guests have that streams any kind of music. As far as other Sonos products, I use the Sonos Connect to drive my ole 1990's Denon amp and speakers that I now use to play music in my garage, another Connect to drive my powered Sound Bars; I use the Sonos Connect AMP to drive my MBR Ceiling Speakers; I use Play 1 in stereo pairs and all-alone in smaller spaces like Laundry, upper hallway and bathrooms. I use Play 3's in Kitchens, Offices and Rec Rooms, I use my Play 5 in my office cuz i sometimes use the AUX-In Cable to connect to my old-tech Cassette outputs and my old iPod. Yeah, I have over a dozen Sonos items to include a Sonos Boost to wirelessly reach more distant areas where I may not have an Ethernet Cable. Enjoy and Fear Not! Sonos also has top notch support and diagnostics.
