No, the Play 5 2nd gen has a 3mm plug but the Play 3 and Play 1 only work via Wifi with the Sonos app or Spotify if you have a premium account.

You can then link other Play 1, 2 or 5 speakers to it for surround sound. Or you can purchase a hub the will act as connection for the tv. The only thing is that the hub cost almost as much as the Play Bar speaker.

Please try again later.The Sonos play 1's 3's and 5's work great as standalone speakers, but in order to function with a tv signal they need to be configured within a group that includes the Sonos playbar because it has an optical input from the tv which transmits the signal to the Sonos system.
